A scissor lift is basically an elevator on steroids, but without the drama of dangling cables.

It’s a mechanical platform that moves straight up and down using a crisscrossing ("scissor") support structure. When those supports expand, the platform rises; when they contract, it lowers. Think of it like an accordion, but instead of making music, it gets you and your tools up to that hard-to-reach ceiling light or construction beam.

In most cases, operators must complete appropriate training under Australian safety regulations. Always ensure compliance before operation.

• Power on – Turn the key, hit the controls.
